BACKGROUND
Millions of individuals are currently enduring the disastrous consequences of extreme weather events, worsened by climate change. The campaign aimed to increase the Bangladeshi youth’s understanding of the ongoing climate crisis by launching a campaign that emphasized creative solutions for addressing the effects of climate change.
OBJECTIVE
The primary objective of the campaign was to educate the youth on how to find solutions to the current crisis that has already started to impact Bangladesh.
Idea
The campaign aimed to bring climate experts and the youth under one platform to inspire the younger generation to come up with innovative solutions to tackle the impact of climate change in their local areas.
EXECUTION
The campaign commenced with a webinar featuring experts and journalists, providing insights into climate change challenges. 15 youth teams were selected for a competition to identify local climate impacts and propose solutions. A two-day boot camp in Cox’s Bazar guided participants in developing detailed plans. After 2 months of preparation, the Grand Finale event took place, where a panel of judges chose the top 3 projects to be funded by USAID.
At the Grand Finale held in the IUB Auditorium, standout ideas were recognized, and teams received special assistance to implement their climate action projects. The night concluded with an electrifying concert by Artcell, sparking celebration and hope for a sustainable future.
RESULT
The campaign brought together climate enthusiasts, organizations, and students, fostering collaboration and innovation for a sustainable future. The campaign has been turned into an action-packed educational Reality TV Show that was aired on RTV every Friday in the month of August, creating further awareness among the public. The news of the campaign was covered in 8 TV News Channels, 10 News Papers, 17 Online News Portals, & the total PR Value of the campaign were: (BDT) 49,21,845. The total reach of PR was 14,913,556. The Campaign marked a new chapter in Bangladesh’s efforts to combat climate change.
