bKash
Age Recharge Taka Pore
BACKGROUND
Bangladesh had never seen “Recharge Now, Pay Later,” so trust became the biggest challenge. A functional feature alone could not drive adoption. People needed something familiar, memorable, and culturally relatable. New behaviors spread through emotional connection and repetition, not explanation. Trust grows from what people already know, understand, and accept.
OBJECTIVE
To introduce and normalize “Mobile Recharge Pay Later” as a new behaviour.
To build trust and drive adoption through engaging, memorable content rather than traditional feature-led communication.
Idea
Don’t announce it. Make people discover it, and then sing it.
bKash turned a financial feature into a cultural moment by combining curiosity-led discovery with a catchy, repeatable musical hook.
EXECUTION
The campaign began with intrigue. Instead of a traditional launch, bKash introduced a minimal microsite with no explanation, only a prompt to scan familiar mobile operator logos. Trusted symbols became the gateway to discovering something new, transferring trust and sparking curiosity.
To drive adoption, the campaign shifted from discovery to culture. A simple, memorable line –
Aage recharge, taka pore, bKash app-e Pay Later-e was turned into a song.
Rather than relying on a single voice, fourteen creators across lifestyle, comedy, tech, and music brought the line to life in their own style. Each version reached different audiences, transforming a jingle into a shared chorus that spread organically across platforms.
RESULT
The campaign turned a feature into a nationwide behavior:
- 17M+ reach
- 1B+ impressions
- 83K+ logo scans
More importantly, a completely new habit entered everyday conversation.
What started as a feature became a song people remembered, and a behavior they adopted.
